Isabel Beckenstein is an experienced Art Therapist who believes in the power of creativity as a tool for healing. Isabel started her educational journey at CUNY Hunter, earning a Bachelor’s degree where she majored in Psychology and minored in Sociology. Her love for art led her to study Studio Art, where she focused on sculpture, painting, and figure drawing. She then earned a Master's degree in Art Therapy from New York University, combining her passion for psychology and the arts.
Throughout her career, Isabel has worked in various settings such as psychiatric hospitals, legal environments, and private practices. She's comfortable working with all age groups and has experience treating conditions like depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and phobias. Isabel is skilled in using a range of art mediums, including paint, collage, sculpture, writing, and drawing. Her approach to therapy is integrative, taking into account each individual's unique needs and preferences. In her work, Isabel aims to show the transformative power of creative expression. She believes that everyone's creativity can be a key to personal growth and improved mental health.
